They are a multi-platinum act originally from Australia with a huge list of hits that have been ingrained into every American's head dating back to 1972. Their hits include "Lonesome Looser, Help Is On It's Way, Reminiscing, Night Owls, Cool Change, among others. Andy and Matt have already done a show with the band, and there is talk about a summer tour.
Beach Boys Record- The summer of 2004 proved to very exciting. Andy and Matt sang on a new CD that Disney is putting out for kids in the summer of 2005. The CD consists of mostly Beach Boys songs. Matt sings lead vocal on "Be True To Your School" and Andy sings lead vocal on "I Get Around" The Beach Boys (except for Brian Wilson) sang background vocals on all the songs.
Buffett?- The Massacoustics have been doing a few tour dates with the amazing Peter Mayer ( Jimmy Buffett's guitarist). Peter's band is brewing over with members of the Coral Refer Band. Peter's fresh music is definitely worth checking out.
Key West Again- The Massacoustics are down in Key West for their third and final tropical island trip 2003. They plan to return in late January 2004 prior to their European tour in February. There is time set aside in late November and December for writing and recording. Andy has written a few songs with Dennis Matkowski (Maniac, I Need You) and has a few more appointments scheduled in December. There is already a full album worth of songs to be recorded. They are hoping for a late spring release.
Back From The Northeast- The recent Northeast tour turned out to be one of the best runs the Massacoustics have done to date. The tour started out in Cape Cod Ma. at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. An Enthusiastic crowd of almost 2,500 people packed in to the open air venue. There were great shows all along the way on the rest of the tour in D.C., Annapolis MD., New York City, Rehoboth Beach, West Virginia, Philly, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. "The Bottom Line" club in New York City will probably be a regular stop now on the swing through Manhattan and the Ram's Head Tavern in Annapolis once again had a full house on a great Sunday night. There is talk about a quick return in late November.

Back From Germany- After touring all over Germany to full and enthusiastic audiences, The Massacoustics boast 2 top twenty songs on one of Germany's popular music charts. 'Soundtrack Of The Summer' and 'Back On The Farm' got great response from the German crowds and now are on the airways country wide.
L. A. scene- The first trip back to the west coast in almost two years proved to be very promising. The Massacoustics were very well received at the show in Los Angeles where they opened up for Four Side Letter. The combination of the two bands seemed to work rather well and as the Massacoustics plan to hit the west coast more frequently, there could be more shows with Four Side Letter to come.
Euro Trip Taking shape- Late June and early July are coming together for another trip to Germany. As of right now there is a good week and a half's worth of shows with a few radio shows on the books. Check back later when we have a better idea if the radio shows are broadcast on line.
Nashville Radio Play- After a very Successful show with Will Hoge at Wrlt's Sunday night broadcast, Lightning 100 (WRLT) has added Giving All My Loving Away, Under Achiever and one or two others to their play list. The Massacoustics are happy to have more of their songs in US rotation.

A New CD Available!- Recently the band finished another CD. As of right now it is only available at their live shows, but they plan to have it online in the next month. The Cd is full of their most requested songs and some new tunes that haven't been performed out live yet.
Massacoustics play 3 shows in one day at South By South West. Each one of the shows went great. This was the perfect opportunity to reach an amazing amount of people in a short period of time. Even in an environment made up of mostly music industry people, the Massacoustics were able to generate a huge deal of excitement. Texas has proven to be a wonderful place to return to, and they plan to make it part of their regular touring plans. South By South West is one of the coolest music festivals in the country. It takes place in Austin TX. the week of March 10th.The Massacoustics lucked out and landed three high profile shows on Thursday March 13th. They played La Zona Rosa at 4PM, Shady Grove at 6PM and The Bitter End at 9PM.
Major TV Network Prime Time -Monday, March 3rd on NBC at 8:30 a song called "Something Stronger" by the Massacoustics played on a show called "Meet My Folks". Andy and Matt are excited to be a part of the new craze in TV reality shows. NBC’s hit dating-reality series “Meet My Folks,” which was the number-three show of the summer among adults 18-49, continues to be a smash with viewers since returning to NBC in January 2003. Upcoming shows will feature several new twists and special themes, including a “Meet My Kids” episode (in which three grown sons get to pick the best man for their single mom), a special show in which three sets of identical twins compete for a trip to Hawaii with one man, and a two-part episode in which five men vie for a trip to Australia with a gorgeous swimsuit model. The song was written by Andy Thompson and is on their current CD.
- North East Tour cold but rockin This Past week the duo did a great tour of the North East. Banging out two high energy shows in NYC, it seemed as though they picked up right where they left off. They have not been back to perform in New York in over a year but they still had very good attendance and there were a few people from the music industry that came to satisfy their curiosity. Despite a power failure in Philly, the show at The Point was a success. They had to perform a scaled down version of their normal show, but the vibe was good and a huge percentage of the audience bought CDs. Todd Schider's crowd in North Hampton MA. was very receptive and the Massacoustics will definitely make The Iron Horse a club that they return to on future North East tours. The Fire in Philly went well and their highly anticipated return to the Dog Fish Head Brew Pub in Rehoboth beach was phenomenal.
- Radio airplay in Europe The song "Under Achiever" is getting morning drive time airplay in Belgium on National Radio 1. Many of the other songs off of their current CD are being broadcast as well.
- European
Tour With their return from a wonderfully successful tour of
Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, The Massacoustics set their sights
on a short northeast tour and a trip down to South By Southwest in Austin
TX. They totally sold out of CDs in Key West FL. and had a difficult
time keeping up with the demand of CDs in Europe. Don't worry, they'll
make more. The European audiences were incredibly receptive and the band
is already setting up another tour for June. With a repeat of Germany,
Belgium and the Netherlands, this time they will try to include much
of the UK. They plan to play many of the same venues as the last tour
and are working on playing many of the music festivals that are all over
Europe in the summer months.
- A song in a video game and MTV The Massacoustics have been
working some of their older songs to TV and movies in Los Angeles. MTV quickly
jumped on a song by the name of "Who's The Man". It was placed
in an MTV reality show called Tough Enough. The song also will be in the 2003
MVP baseball video game by Electronic Arts for Sony Play Station
and X Box. It should be on the shelves sometime in March of this year. The
song was recorded by a band named "The Border Ruffians" and their
version will be on both MTV and the video game.
